I’ve had a lot of trouble sitting down lately. Singapore’s Bhelliom’s The Colossal Tragedy kicked my behind so hard that I still have bruises resembling The Watchmen’s Rorschach’s mask. Bhelliom’s sound is a collage of stoner metal riffs, Meshuggah quirkiness and The Haunted’s no-frills attitude. JUNK featured the band’s track ‘Layer By Layer’ a few months ago. If you remember how well that track sonically gave you a beat down, you can imagine how the rest of the tracks here fare. This album demands full use of cliché metal adjectives, so here are all the popular ones in one go: brutal, crushing and monstrous.
