Junksounds Awards winner: Swissy

Described as a mix of melancholy and sweetness, one-woman band Swissy concocts the perfect melodies to make her Best Artist at the Junksounds Awards 2008. We find out what she's been up to since the awards.

What are you up to these days?
Right now, I'm working on how to improve my live performances. I've decided to become a one-woman band by going digital with my live performances so I've been busy learning how to use Reason software as a performance tool. I'm also working on my next music video for 'Your Life's In Rewind'.

What was your first reaction when you found out you won Best Artist in the Junksounds Awards?
I was very surprised and extremely humbled that people voted for me–thank you so much!

What are your thoughts on the first ever Junksounds Awards?
Firstly, congratulations! I think Junksounds is a great idea as it allows us musicians to reach a wider audience and conversely, introduces us locals to other artists in the region.

What's the most unlikely place for you to get inspiration?
In the shower.

What's your earliest childhood memory?
Getting my ears pierced when I was three–I remember the pain!
