After almost two years of hype, the debut EP by Komplot finally arrives. The question is, is it worth the wait? I’m happy to report that it definitely is, with only the title track being the weak link amongst the four songs on the EP. It also contains some real impressive knob-twiddling by the band’s guitarist, with my only complaint being the drum sound, which could’ve been tougher. Opening song ‘Enter This Kosmos’ is a fantastic slice of disco rock whilst their current single ‘Nora Zen’ is one catchy hit waiting to happen. Roll on the album!

I don't wanna start another "debate" but just wanna point out that Couple and Komplot were influenced by different artists and their music are unique in their own way.
Couple's brand of powerpop was influenced by cheerful-happy-clappy bands such as The Beach Boys, The Beatles & The Who and a tinge of surf-rock ala Force Vomit can be heard.
Komplot is the melange of post-punk with 70's disco; hence, the emphasis on the guitar and saxophone while Couple is more towards creating that "jumping" vibe on their drums.
Whatever it is, I can vouch that their music, as I said before, are unique & so far, I haven't seen or heard any other band, local or international, being categorized in "similar to..."
What we need now is a marketing machinery....anyone willing to form Malaysia's version of Epitaph Records?

eh suda2 la tuh. drpd drum tougher punya bunyi je tros dah sampai ke music social class la, international records la, promot band sindri la, ape ni? these are all a waste of time! they shouldn't be compared in the first place because both bands are from different genres and both are good in their own ways. i own komplot's disko tanpa risiko and i own couple's teenage disc fantastic. both are really good, it's a win-win situation.

tak guna buat cd lagu mcm nak market ke bulan tapi lagu orang tk boleh terima n x leh jual. telinga orang malaysia ni mudah je. bape kerat sgt yg paham m tahu musik. the rest are majorly followers.janji cd laku,show jalan.duit masukk.... tak rite? hehee.

bia jelah dieorg ni buat ape yg dieorg tahu n terer for the time being. later2 dieorg sedar n learn from it. butterfingers pun amik masa betahun2 utk smpai tahap sekrang ni kan plak band2 mcm komplot..hehehe give them chance.
TETAPI encik komplot...kalau ada byk modal n masa, enhance la lagi qualiti production cd so dat korang jual setaraf kualiti sebenar cd korang. aku anti betul cd local yg production low klas tapi rega nya tambah singgit dua baik beli cd non local yg kualitinya jauh lebih baik.camne nak support local camni kalo kualiti hansap.
plus tade la malu sgt kat musicians luar. for now, maybe u say that u choose ur sound becoz its ur identity/trademark. tu bagus. but u need to evolve to become better n better.keep on learning n learning...
anyway aku suka komplot n couple. so far tade la terok sgt. at least lagu2 dieorg stand out, quality wise tu..wdaya expect they are babies...give them more time lah.:)
aidil.im on ur side..wuts with the personal attacks on aidil n couple??he knows what he is talking about..org malaysia ni suke berlagak laa..kalo btol2 brani pergilaa ckp cmtu dpn2 aidil..dont do it anonymously..thts wut u call cowards..be patient aidil.
