The Dorques
The Dorques
(Independent)
This Pinoy foursome has a proclivity for the kooky and hawks a perniciously leftfield template. A salient point one notes upon repeated listen is the sheer fluidity of the tracks themselves. Whether harping on spontaneous humping (‘F*ck On The Floor’) or singing in French (‘Le Metronome’, another ode to sex), none of the tracks feel gullet-forced in their progression. They make a subliminal track like ‘Murasaki Blues’ sound effortless as it unfurls in ever urgent cadences while the New Order stamp is evident on ‘Supercool’–replete with dribbling, Sumner-esque riffs and wispy synths in the background.
