From Cadillac To Geisha
The Pragmatist

(Indendent)

Hailing from the rapidly developing Malaysian town of Seremban, you’d think that From Cadillac To Geisha’s music would somehow reflect the newfound hustle and bustle of their soon-to-be-city. Alas, the band’s tepid take on alt-emo puts them squarely in the overcrowded neighbourhood of female-fronted bands all trying to take a swipe at Amy Lee (they’ve since lost their vocalist and are currently looking for a new one). The polished production, glossy guitar tones and driving choruses are capable enough, but without a distinctive, suitably rounded vocal performance to flesh out those nestled hooks, things rarely ever shift past second gear.
