Hewing a punk-tinged take on the monolithic emo slab, Terengganu’s very own Sleepyjeremy’s eponymous EP is all shifting, pandemic melodies–with enough hooks to fill two MPVs. One can imagine intense movement to ‘Love On The Way Out’ from gig-goers, in spite of the unwieldy, hokey high school poetry. But they fare better on Malay tracks like ‘Katakan Padaku’, by virtue of frontman Ujay’s more natural diction. With that said, ‘Mist Afternoon’ is very sing-along worthy and easily the best track on the EP. There’s even a cover of a Pilgrims song–cool.
