CHANNEL [V]’s new Battle Of The Pop smacks down

Channel [V] unveils a new music programme called Battle Of The Pop, where viewers vote for who they think is on top of the pop world.

From March, channelv.com will have an online arena where fans can watch music’s best acts battle it out for supremacy. Viewers can log on to vote for their favourite artists in different categories. The artists with the greatest number of votes will have their videos aired on Battle Of The Pop, premiering Sunday 29 March.

This month, the face off is between Asian and American artists (eg. Akon vs. Rain, The Killers vs. Nidji, Katy Perry vs. Stephanie Sun) while in April, the best acts in Asia square off in [V]’s cyberspace stadium.

To cast your votes, just go to the [V] website (www.channelv.com), select your top picks in 16 different categories, and tell us why they are the rulers of the pop kingdom. Once the votes are tallied, [V] will honor the winners with back-to-back music videos on Battle Of The Pop, an all-day special airing the last Sunday of every month on Malaysia's satellite TV Astro.
