So you love the earth. And so you love the King. Prove it by attending Karnival Hijau Kuning 2009 (KHK09)!

But first, some trivia: hijau (green), quite obviously, refers to vegetation. Kuning (yellow) is the official colour of Malaysian royalty. The emblem of the state of Kedah is green and yellow. The Kedah football team is called the Hijau-Kuning.

And so, to mark the birthday celebrations of the Agong of Malaysia this June, Hoppipolla brings you the huge KHK09, which will feature a load of wholesome outdoor games and activities, performances and workshops.

Taking place in and around Alor Setar Tower, Kedah, the activities planned for KHK are almost too numerous to list: the activities include skate, BMX and Parkour competitions, recitals, short film screenings, open mic acoustic sessions as well as the talent of Farid Ali (Mr. Gambus) and The Bourjuis. The Papa Smurf of rock himself, Ramli Sarip, will be reuniting with Sweet Charity after almost 40 years.
