Andre Benjamin, sensible vegetarian
Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Does it even mean anything anymore? Rockstars were different way back when: they grew their hair in ways your teacher/boss wouldn’t allow, wore the leather pants that wouldn’t fit you, slept with the people who would spurn you like a rabid dog, and ingested substances to go on epic, peyote-filled mindfuck journeys that policemen would frown upon.
But now we scoff at the likes of (formerly) drug-addled Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty, as they did in the Middle Ages with lepers. John Mayer has a more interesting sex life than sensible, married Julian Casablancas or Jarvis Cocker. Even Lindsay Lohan is technically more classical badass than say, a Danger Mouse.
Whither Lemmy? Is Oprah to blame for cramming the virtues of the clean, new age life down our throats? Or are we collectively more sober now, realising that the Jim Morrisons and Jeffery Lee Pierces of the world died at a young age from substance abuse? Or do we still, secretly, wish our rockstars to live the lives we cannot (or shouldn’t)?
The main questions here is: do you like your rockstars clean?
asalkan indie rockstar bukan pretentious fucks mcm peminat diorang (worldview + gaya percakapan 'attention-seeking'nya bagaikan Kejuaraan Masturbasi XTreme), kalau rupamuka mcm peter parker pun ok
wat is rock.. if its clean then no more rock lah
freedom is always dirty hik3
clean rock stars ftw!
dude!
i dun like my rawkstarz clean
i blame malkmus
the term "rock star" derived from the "sex, drugs and rock n' roll" lifestyle and in my opinion, I think that's the only way to do it and make it count! Sure your life could end any day with your excessive drug use, multiple sex partners etc..etc.. but for some reason you stop being relevant when you take all that out. They become boring. Sorta.
