Oasis singer Liam Gallagher will unveil pieces from his new clothing line Pretty Green on 4 June. Monkey-jumping on the oft-ridden bandwagon of musicians designing clothes, Pretty Green will feature mod-looking gear designed by professionals and subject to Liam’s approval, as opposed to being designed by Liam himself. Which, at least, will be a step up from Oasis merch (admittedly shit since 1995).
As Liam says on the behind-the-scenes video on the offical site: “Clothes and music are my passion. I'm not here to rip anyone off and I'm not doing it for the money either. I'm doing it ‘cause there's a lack of stuff out there of the things I would wear."
But wait. This sounds too, well, legitimate. Where’s the spite at imaginary foes? Ah, there it is, all’s well in the world: “I’m not into this skinny look. These skinny things, man. That’s what I’m here for man, I’ll fookin' get rid of that shit, them pointy shoes. You know those shoes that come at you like a fookin' snooker cue. It’s like ‘Ah, you gotta fookin' leave now man, you gotta licence for them bastards or what?’”
The Pretty Green website is up and running, but as mentioned earlier, the actual clothes will only be displayed from 4 June onwards.
