Rock N Roll Kot?

If you think Sunday is pretty mind-numbing, think again! Cloth & Clef transformed our unproductive Sunday night into something motivating with Rock N’ Roll Kot? (for those not in the know, the name is supposed to be ironic; kot is Malay slang for “maybe”).
The night started calmly with music from singer/songwriter Mohd Jayzuan followed by the lady with a guitar, Wani Ardy. Both created soothing ambiance in the joint, especially Wani Ardy’s blend of double bass and acoustic guitar during her set.
Akta Angkasa launched us into another dimension with their music. Fro some reason or another, they decided to only play the one song, before the crowd started getting restless. Without any hesitation, they played another to appease the fans’ bloodlust. Their raw sounds were awesome, and ‘Biarkan’ was the perfect final song before they gave way to the all-conquering Khottal.
Funnily enough, nearly half of Khottal had to stand on the floor as they could not fit all ten members on stage. Their onstage showmanship is undeniably overwhelming. Plus, they announced that Hafidz turned a year older that night. The band and everyone sang him a ‘Happy Birthday’ ditty, which put the crowd in the mood to go “woo” for the ‘Woo Song’.
Also in the bill was Sforzando! and an indie band from Hong Kong, Chochukmo. This latter, a five-piece band as a representative for Hong Kong in the Global Battle of the Bands in 2008 but they didn’t win unfortunately. Chochukmo’s music is basically experimental rock, fusing together elements from jazz to funk, to bossa nova and to dance. Their oddly-titled ‘Tell Her (Laura I Love Her)’ is catchy indeed.
Rock & Roll Kot? turned out to be the perfect event to end the weekend. Yes, people may call Cloth & Clef a small venue, they proved once again that intimate is always the best policy. No kots or maybes here. This was rock ‘n’ roll.

korang ni nampak lowfile tapi equipment tanak kalah punya. aku rasa malam tu sahaja total value korang punya equipment dah dekat RM 10,000.00!!! huhuhu. (dan langsung tak berlagak terer & trendy)
biasala malaysian. suka komen kutuk. bila tau sikit benda2 rare, dah macam bagus pijak org lain. kalau ko tau xiu xiu pun apa bagus sgt ker? nak sound2 band punya originality boleh korang list kan band mana skang yg ada sound original? kalau ko hidup zaman 40'an 50'an 60'an i would say yes. muak sial baca komen belagak rare sgt. baru dgr d/l 1 - 2 lagu, baca kat mana2 source pasal few 'rare' artist dah rasa mcm bagus sgt. benda yg ko dgr, ko rasa rare tu la fucken trendy doh. aku still respect kat A\\A. confront face to face la dgn diorang kalau korang rasa x puas hati sgt membazir duit tiket korg bayar! good job Ned! biasala org2 yg nak jadi trend setter ni.. tiap2 hari update band baru, tapi haprak x berisi, janji knowledge up to date!
ok guys...sedikit pengetahuan utk semua yg telah hadir ke show A\\A dr thn 2005-2009...
slalunye A\\A akan perform 1st act or as a last band for da day..so
* if ada 6 bands yg perform, kiterorg terpaksa soundcheck last session eventho' kiterorg sampai 4pm at vanue..
* time A\\A setup brg org dh mula masuk gigs..xkan nk halau kn??hmm...
so,crowd yg hadir dh mengambil kira masa dr letak brg & soundcheck...blom start lagu???its fine for US!!!but dont just simply BANG & BANG BOOM A\\A..
if u guys want A\\A to be wht ever post-rock band u wanted, YES we can...but really ² sorry... we just -AKTA ANGKASA - Thanks

Yup! Agree with lupakan. They did their best. Rm10 dah kire berbaloi beb.
Some technical problems here n there jadikn akta angkasa lambt. They came early 4 soundchck that day. Technically, their 'brg2 vintge' need more 'belaian' . Haha. Sensitive. Same like human when they get older.
'Mic'ing or not.. The intense is stil there. U askd for originality but kondem org yg buat somethg diffrnt.
Memg susah nk puaskn hati smua org. Kalau sendiri nk hati puas, dont stand up in the crowd n claim like u know evrythg. They dont force people to listen 2 them. Lepak luar, isap rokok. Usya awek.

jenny lewis > actually aku dah tgk diorang live a couple of times. aku rasa combination of tempat yg kecik dan amps yg korok, mmg gitar tak dengar serious. percussions should kontrol velocity kot kalau tempat kecik (the xylophone ada mic, thats why boleh dgr).
im not questioning their creative flair, just that they should take some time to learn the technical side of things (or hire someone to do it for them)
