Modest Mouse’s EP No One’s First, And You’re Next will be coming out later today, and so will their video for their ‘King Rat’!
The video is directed by none other than Heath Ledger himself, who presented Isaac Brock with his ideas way back in 2007. The animated vid is about illegal whale hunting (that's whales, not exploding sharks) on the shores of Australia, but it remained unfinished at the time of Heath’s death.
Cue The Masses: the film and music company (which Heath was a partner of) took it upon themselves to finish the video in his honour. It makes its MySpace debut later today, but we’ll be posting it right here when it comes out!
And go ahead and save the whales by downloading the video on iTunes; all proceeds in the first month of release will go to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, the international marine wildlife conservation organisation.
(Update, 5 Aug) Bah. MySpace is doing the "This video is not available in your country" malarkey, so you can't watch it there (unless you know a way around it *cough* IP *cough*). But Consequence Of Sound has a Quicktime version of the video, which you can watch by clicking HERE.
Finally.
