GBOB Malaysia 2008 winners LabRat.
The people at Global Battle Of The Bands (GBOB) whittle it down to these three essential questions:
1. Are you a band?
2. Do you have at least two original songs?
3. Can you play them live?
If you answered “yes”, “yes”, and “yes” then you’re eligible. It really is that simple.
But you’ll face stiffer competition this year with up to 30 countries and 12,000 musicians expected to participate in this year’s GBOB. Don’t puss out from the challenge, since it’ll be broadcst to an audience of over two million people. If you’ve ever thought your band was in dire need of more exposure…
If (or when) you beat your local rivals, you’ll take part in the World Final, where you can win a “band development package” worth USD100,000. That includes a week in a top London studio with a producer, a 10-date UK tour, and USD10,000. That’s enough for you to waste not only a few MYR/SGD/IDR/PHP bills to light up cigars, but USD/GBP baby (hypothetically, since smoking is bad for you and shit)!
So how to take part? Click HERE if you’re Malaysian, HERE if you’re Indonesian, and HERE if you’re Thai. At the time of writing, Singapore and the Philippines are not listed yet, so you need to drop the organisers an email at music@gbob.com. Do it. Do it now.
