The KL Hip Hop Festival 2008 is a gathering organised by The Reach Event to bring Asian hip hop out in the open. Expect artists from Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and our very own Malaysian hip hop fraternity cutting up rhymes onstage!
Slated as a two-day event on 22 and 23 November, festival goers are invited to join in the "partay" and experience the workshops and competitions based on all the elements of hip hop culture. Experience the soul food on offer and the very first hip hop bazaar selling great gear to pimp your style from street wear to hip hop bling.
UPDATE (as of 16 Sep): The event is set to take place at Modesto's in Sri Hartamas on 15 November, lasting a good while from 12pm to 2am. The organisers are even asking fans to vote for which international rapper they'd like to see onstage at the fest. Rumours are flying all over the place about Lupe, Nas and KRS-One, but we can only hope....
You can get your hands on presale tickets beginning October at all Modesto's outlets and The Reach Events at Plaza Damas.

There's also a bazaar, MC talent and open mic sessions, DJ workshops, b-boy showcases, graffiti workshops and an open skate park.
Tickets are currently priced at RM55 and are available at Echo Park outlets located in Sungei Wang Plaza, Mid Valley Megamall, Berjaya Times Square and Sunway Pyramid.

what about local groups? Whos coming? Anybody know?
I'd like to see some Joe Flizzooooooo. What about Jin from Hong Kong? Terriyaki Boyz from Japan? 4Dub from Thailand? Red Star from China? Bring in some hot groups like this.

the asian hip hop festival is a joke. modesto? pfft. hell nawww. they'll prolly get some b-grade american artist comin over.
as much i enjoyed seeing jurassic 5 the two times that i did previously, the fact that only akil is coming is so...pfft. but i gather its better than nothing.

No offense, but apparently there are some, if not most, "hip-hoppers" have migrated to the indie scene. I know, I know. Meluat jugak tgk poser2 ni panggil themselves "budak indie".

no, they'll have C-grade international acts ! if u wanna have this kinda big event, u need to get A-grade international acts ! So that everybody would come to the event. Maybe not everybody but 90% of malaysians! The event will be more HOT ! haha sounds funny.
