Nick Cave's literary bent has never been in doubt – he may be the only singer in recent memory to namedrop Yeats in connection to poontang ('No Pussy Blues') and use the word "prolix" in a song ('We Call Upon The Author To Explain'). Plus, the august sage has published four books to date, including one just released yesterday, The Death Of Bunny Munro.
Now thanks to Prefix, you can download St. Nick himself reading chapter five of his latest novel. It's soundtracked too, so it has The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford vibe about it. Click HERE for the download link.
And if you do want to visualise what Cave would look like reading from a book into a mic, head over to the Macmillan website; you can watch Nick Cave reading selected chapters. It is deliciously surreal.
Excuse us while we skive from work and indulge. As you were.
