Four albums in, and it’s still hard to tell who or what The Used actually are. Which makes it seem like they don’t sound like anybody else, but that’s not necessarily true in this case: they sound like almost, well, everyone, vacillating from Boys Like Girls-type mall punk to Gerard Way screaming acrobatics to the frying-pan smack of heart-on-sleeve emotionality that you’d normally associate with Avril Lavigne. Within the same song even (ie. ‘Empty With You’). Nice, well-crafted and almost too perfect in its execution, Artwork is the album to slit your wrists to; but only across the tracks.

Boys Like Girls??..Gerard Way??!!!..are u kidding me??..The Used sounds way better..they never dissapoint me since day one..
