2009 is probably going to be the year for (500) Days Of Summer, like how 2004 was for Garden State, and 2007 for Juno. The soundtrack sees the gathering of nostalgic 80s pop acts like The Smiths, Simon & Garfunkel and Hall & Oates, feel-good girl pop darlings Regina Spektor, Feist and Meaghan Smith as well as contemporary indie introductions to The Temper Trap, Wolfmother and co-star Zooey Deschanel’s own She & Him. Conclusion? It’s definitely another well-compiled movie soundtrack to stash alongside other like-minded indie movies and their soundtracks.
