Projek Angkat Rumah at Urbanscapes 2010!
To the untrained, this idea might sound completely ridonkulous, but we assure you that Projek Angkat Rumah is not the epitome of pain, labor and torture!
Inspired by the event of Abu Hassan Ahmad, a farmer who rallied 150 villagers to carry his house over half a KM to be closer to his ailing mother, the urban version of this story is about to be re-enacted!
Filmmaker, Liew Seng Tat and his cohorts (supported by Five Arts Centre) are gathering people from all walks of life to join in the combined effort of shifting a specially-designed house along Jalan Ipoh to its final destination: Urbanscapes 2010! The house will then be converted into an open stage for anyone who wants to perform on the makeshift stage!
See, we told you it's not going to be a chore. Especially when you're doing it all for with combined effort and for a good cause! And of course, as per Urbanscapes tradition, they're not going to let you walk away empty-handed! Free Urbanscapes passes & goody bags for those who register early to carry the house! How: Assist in carrying the house or to join in the festivities by walking along-side and cheering us on.
When: 26 June 2010 Sat, 9am – 12 pm.
Where: Meet in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan Sentul Utama at 9am.
Distance: About 1.3km.
