The annual ZoukOut has been celebrating the best of music and dance for years now and has since become a necessary pilgrimage for music fans all over the world who just love a good party. Amidst rumours of a discontinuation of this much-loved fest, fans will be happy to know that ZoukOut returns this year with another strong lineup at Siloso Beach in Sentosa. Happening on 13 December, among the acts that will be performing are:
Nouvelle Vague
The French collective that's a favourite among lounge lizards, Nouvelle Vague will treat the crowd to their bossa and Caribbean-inspired arrangements of rarely covered songs from the 80s new wave and punk era:
Bloco Singapura + NovoBloco
An eight-piece band and a 40-strong percussion team playing carnival rhythms fused with contemporary sounds.
Henrik Schwarz
ZoukOut debutant Henrik Schwarz will be spinning a deep, infectious techno infused live set:
Erol Alkan
And Junk's favourite, the living electro idol Erol Alkan will be bringing both guitar and electronic music back from the grave:
Dirty South
Dirty South shot to fame by producing several monster dancefloor hits that have led to remixes for artists from Tiesto to the Pussycat Dolls and even Snoop Dogg.
More names will be released soon so keep a lookout! For more info, visit ZoukOut's website.
The Malaysian government is so damn strict about events like this because of the Muslim-country status. Maybe they should put a little rest on it,events like this wont effect the status. We get the status because of the population here,no?
