Vans may be known as the skater shoe of choice, but skate and rock are also known to go perfectly hand in hand. And metal band Iron Maiden continues to give proof of this cool alliance. A third time for the rock legends, who have collaborated with Vans twice before, this time the focus is on Iron Maiden’s 1983 album Piece Of Mind.
The selling point here has to be the four-colour print and branded midsole–so others will notice what you're wearing from the other side of the room. This shoe has all of the qualities of a normal Vans Slip-On, but with the pure glory of Iron Maiden stamped all over it. And the front picture of Eddie is no stick-on; it's a purely sewn canvas. The vividness of the design is just awesome if you live and breathe Iron Maiden.
Get the Vans Iron Maiden Piece Of Mind at a sneaker store near you. In Malaysia, these Vans shoes are available at selected Stadium, Studio R and Royal Sporting House outlets in the Klang Valley. The Sk8-Hi design that features a large graphic on the side panels of the shoe retails in Malaysia at RM289 and the Classic Slip-On with the same design on the front panel costs RM249.
Other shoes in the Vans Band Series include collabos with Johnny Ramone, Motorhead, the Circle Jerks and Dropkick Murphys.

Converse has its fair share of celebrity collaborations. A few weeks ago we blogged about Lupe Fiasco's involvement in the PRODUCT (RED) project with Converse. Well they're roping in 100 artists for a string of artist signature shoes as part of this project (10% of proceeds are set to go to the The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria). The latest model is by Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) and retails for USD$69.99.
