Samsons
Penantian Hidup
(Universal)
Indonesian rock works the same way as Swedish metal. For the most part, you can’t go wrong if you come across a popular band from either country doing said genre or music. Indonesia’s Samsons prove this on their latest album Penantian Hidup, which dishes out plenty of inoffensive radio rock sure to please fans of the Sheilas and Dewas out there. As is usually the case with Indonesian rock bands, there are plenty of songs about love found and lost. Nothing here really breaks the mould, so if you’re in the mood for music that sounds familiar and safe, Samsons is just your ticket.
